USS Alstede (AK-109)
The USS Alstede (AK-109) was a cargo ship of the United States Navy, launched on March 15, 1944. It was designed to transport supplies and equipment to support naval operations during World War II. The ship was named after a small town in New Jersey and was part of the Alstede class of cargo ships.
Commissioned on June 30, 1944, the USS Alstede served in the Pacific Theater, delivering essential materials to various locations. After the war, it was decommissioned and transferred to the Maritime Administration in 1946, where it continued to serve in a civilian capacity until it was eventually scrapped.
