UGX
UGX, or the Ugandan Shilling, is the official currency of Uganda. It is abbreviated as UGX and is subdivided into 100 cents. The currency symbol for the Ugandan Shilling is "USh." The Bank of Uganda is responsible for issuing and regulating the currency.
The Ugandan Shilling has undergone several changes since its introduction in 1987, replacing the previous currency, the East African Shilling. The exchange rate of UGX can fluctuate based on various economic factors, including inflation, trade balance, and foreign investment.
