Type AB Blood
Type AB blood is one of the four main blood types, characterized by the presence of both A and B antigens on the surface of red blood cells. This unique combination means that individuals with AB blood can receive blood from any other blood type, making them universal recipients.
People with type AB blood can donate to other AB individuals but are limited in their donation options, as they can only give to those with AB blood. This blood type is relatively rare, occurring in about 4% of the population, and is important for blood transfusions and organ transplants.
