Tupolev Tu-4
The Tupolev Tu-4 is a Soviet strategic bomber that first flew in 1947. It was developed as a reverse-engineered copy of the American Boeing B-29 Superfortress, which the Soviets captured during World War II. The Tu-4 was designed to carry out long-range bombing missions and could transport nuclear weapons.
With a wingspan of 141 feet and a maximum speed of around 350 mph, the Tu-4 was a significant advancement in Soviet aviation. It served primarily in the Soviet Air Forces until the late 1950s and played a crucial role in the early years of the Cold War.
