Tulsa Race Riot
The Tulsa Race Riot occurred from May 31 to June 1, 1921, in the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma. This area was known as "Black Wall Street" due to its prosperous African American community. The violence began after an incident involving a young Black man, Dick Rowland, and a white woman, leading to false rumors and escalating tensions between the races.
