Tule Lake
Tule Lake is a former Japanese American internment camp located in northern California. During World War II, it was one of ten camps where Japanese Americans were forcibly relocated and detained by the U.S. government. The camp operated from 1942 to 1946 and housed thousands of individuals, many of whom were U.S. citizens.
Today, Tule Lake is part of the Tule Lake National Monument, which preserves the site and its history. The monument serves as a reminder of the injustices faced by Japanese Americans during the war and aims to educate the public about this significant chapter in American history.
