Tugen
The Tugen are an ethnic group primarily found in Kenya, particularly in the Bomet and Kericho counties. They are part of the larger Kalenjin community and speak the Tugen language, which belongs to the Nilotic language family. Traditionally, the Tugen people are known for their pastoralist lifestyle, raising livestock such as cattle, sheep, and goats.
Culturally, the Tugen have rich traditions, including unique music, dance, and rituals. They practice agriculture alongside livestock rearing, growing crops like maize and millet. The Tugen community values communal living and has strong ties to their ancestral lands, which play a significant role in their identity and social structure.
