Pokot
The Pokot people are an ethnic group primarily found in Kenya and Uganda. They are known for their pastoral lifestyle, relying on livestock such as cattle, goats, and sheep for their livelihood. The Pokot community is divided into two main groups: the Bukusu Pokot in Uganda and the Kapenguria Pokot in Kenya.
Traditionally, the Pokot practice a form of semi-nomadic herding, moving with their animals to find grazing land. They have a rich cultural heritage, including unique music, dance, and traditional ceremonies. The Pokot also face challenges such as drought and conflicts over resources, impacting their way of life.
