Tuckman's Stages refer to a model developed by psychologist Bruce Tuckman in 1965 that outlines the phases teams typically go through as they develop. The stages are Forming, where team members get to know each other; Storming, where conflicts may arise; Norming, where the team establishes norms and cohesion; and Performing, where the team works effectively towards its goals.
In 1977, Tuckman added a fifth stage called Adjourning, which describes the disbanding of the team after achieving its objectives. Understanding these stages helps teams navigate their development and improve collaboration and productivity.
