Tsuga
Tsuga, commonly known as hemlock, is a genus of coniferous trees in the family Pinaceae. These trees are primarily found in the northern hemisphere, particularly in North America and Asia. Tsuga species are characterized by their needle-like leaves, which are flat and soft, and their distinctive cones that hang down from the branches.
The most well-known species is Tsuga canadensis, or eastern hemlock, which thrives in cool, moist environments. Tsuga trees are important for their ecological role, providing habitat for various wildlife and contributing to forest ecosystems. They are also valued for their wood, which is used in construction and furniture making.
