Tsar Simeon I
Tsar Simeon I, also known as Simeon the Great, ruled the First Bulgarian Empire from 893 to 927 AD. He is celebrated for expanding the empire's territory and influence, making it one of the most powerful states in Europe during his reign. Simeon was a skilled military leader and successfully fought against the Byzantine Empire, securing significant victories.
In addition to his military achievements, Tsar Simeon I is renowned for promoting the Cyrillic alphabet and the spread of Christianity in Bulgaria. He established a cultural and educational center in the capital, Preslav, which helped develop Bulgarian literature and arts, leaving a lasting legacy on the nation's identity.
