Trident II
The Trident II, also known as the Trident D5, is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) developed by the United States. It is designed to carry nuclear warheads and is deployed on the U.S. Navy's fleet of Ohio-class submarines. The missile has a range of over 7,000 miles and can deliver multiple warheads to different targets.
First introduced in the late 1980s, the Trident II is an advanced version of the earlier Trident I missile. It features improved accuracy and payload capacity, making it a key component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent strategy. The missile is maintained and operated by the U.S. Navy and is part of the country's strategic defense system.
