Tribolium
Tribolium is a genus of small beetles commonly known as flour beetles. They are often found in stored grain products and can be pests in homes and food processing facilities. The two most common species are Tribolium castaneum, the red flour beetle, and Tribolium confusum, the confused flour beetle.
These beetles are typically brown and have a flattened body shape. They thrive in warm, dry environments and can reproduce quickly, making them a challenge to control. Effective management includes proper storage of food products and regular cleaning to eliminate potential breeding sites.
