Flour Beetle
The flour beetle is a small insect belonging to the family Tenebrionidae. Commonly found in stored grain products, these pests can damage flour, cereals, and other dry foods. They are typically reddish-brown and measure about 3 to 4 millimeters in length.
There are two main species of flour beetles: the red flour beetle and the confused flour beetle. Both species thrive in warm, dry environments and can reproduce quickly, making them a common nuisance in kitchens and food storage areas. Proper storage and regular cleaning can help prevent infestations.
