Treaty of Falaise
The Treaty of Falaise was an agreement signed in 1174 between King William I of Scotland and King Henry II of England. This treaty followed the capture of William by Henry during a conflict, leading to Scotland's submission to English authority. The treaty established that William would recognize Henry as his overlord and pay a substantial ransom for his release.
As part of the treaty, William also agreed to surrender certain Scottish territories to England. This agreement marked a significant moment in the relationship between Scotland and England, influencing future political dynamics in the region.
