Treasury of Atreus
The Treasury of Atreus is a large, ancient tomb located in Mycenae, Greece. Built around 1250 BC, it is a prime example of Mycenaean architecture and is often referred to as a "beehive tomb" due to its circular shape and domed roof. The structure is made of massive stone blocks and features a long entrance passage leading to a grand burial chamber.
This monumental site is believed to be the burial place of Atreus, a legendary king in Greek mythology. The tomb's impressive design and construction reflect the wealth and power of the Mycenaean civilization, which thrived during the late Bronze Age.
