Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station
Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station is a decommissioned nuclear power facility located in Wales. It began operations in 1965 and was designed to generate electricity using two Magnox reactors. The station was notable for being one of the first in the UK to use this type of reactor technology.
The power station was officially closed in 1991 due to economic factors and safety concerns. Since its closure, efforts have been made to safely decommission the site, which includes the removal of nuclear fuel and the management of radioactive waste. The surrounding area is now being considered for potential future uses.
