Trawl Net
A trawl net is a large fishing net designed to catch fish and other marine creatures. It is typically towed behind a boat, known as a trawler, which drags the net through the water. The net has a wide opening at the front to capture fish and a narrow end, called the codend, where the catch is collected.
Trawl nets can be used at various depths, depending on the target species. They are effective for catching large quantities of fish, such as cod and shrimp, but can also unintentionally capture other marine life, leading to concerns about bycatch and environmental impact.
