Transactinides
Transactinides are a group of synthetic elements in the periodic table that follow the actinide series. They include elements with atomic numbers greater than 103, starting with Lawrencium (Lr) and extending to Oganesson (Og). These elements are typically unstable and radioactive, with very short half-lives, making them difficult to study.
Most transactinides are produced in laboratories through nuclear reactions, often involving the collision of lighter nuclei. Due to their instability, they do not occur naturally and are primarily used for research purposes in fields like nuclear physics and chemistry. Their properties and potential applications are still being explored.
