Trametinib
Trametinib is a medication used to treat certain types of cancer, particularly melanoma that has specific genetic mutations. It works by inhibiting a protein called MEK, which is involved in cell growth and division. By blocking this protein, Trametinib helps slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells.
This drug is often used in combination with another medication called Dabrafenib, which targets a different protein involved in the same cancer pathway. Together, they can be more effective in managing tumors that have mutations in the BRAF gene, providing a targeted approach to cancer treatment.
