Traditional Korean Festivals
Traditional Korean festivals celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Korea, often tied to the lunar calendar. One of the most significant is Chuseok, a harvest festival where families gather to honor their ancestors and share traditional foods like songpyeon, a rice cake filled with sweet ingredients.
Another important festival is Seollal, the Lunar New Year, which marks the beginning of the new year. Families perform rituals called sebae to show respect to their elders and enjoy special dishes such as tteokguk, a rice cake soup believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
