Touchscreen Input
Touchscreen input is a technology that allows users to interact with devices by touching the screen directly. This method is commonly used in smartphones, tablets, and kiosks, enabling users to select options, scroll, and type by tapping or swiping on the display. Touchscreens can detect multiple points of contact, allowing for gestures like pinch-to-zoom.
There are two main types of touchscreens: resistive and capacitive. Resistive touchscreens respond to pressure, making them suitable for use with styluses or gloves. Capacitive touchscreens, on the other hand, detect electrical conductivity from the human body, providing a more responsive and accurate experience.
