Tomb of Pakal
The Tomb of Pakal is located in the ancient city of Palenque, Mexico. It is the burial site of the Mayan ruler K'inich Janaab' Pakal, who reigned during the 7th century. The tomb was discovered in 1952 by archaeologist Alberto Ruz Lhuillier and is known for its elaborate sarcophagus and intricate carvings.
Inside the tomb, the sarcophagus features a stunning lid depicting Pakal in a celestial setting, surrounded by symbols of the underworld and rebirth.
