Tomatina
La Tomatina is an annual festival held in Buñol, Spain, where participants engage in a massive tomato fight. This event takes place on the last Wednesday of August and attracts thousands of people from around the world. The origins of the festival date back to 1945, when a group of young people started throwing tomatoes during a local parade.
During the festival, trucks filled with ripe tomatoes deliver the fruit to the crowd, which then begins the playful battle. The event lasts for about an hour, and by the end, the streets are covered in tomato pulp. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes, as they will get messy.
