Tire Spike
A tire spike is a device designed to puncture the tires of vehicles that drive over it. Typically used by law enforcement or security personnel, tire spikes are often deployed during high-speed chases or to prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas. They are usually made of metal and can be either permanent installations or portable units.
When a vehicle drives over a tire spike, the sharp points penetrate the tire, causing it to deflate rapidly. This method is effective in immobilizing vehicles without causing harm to the occupants. Tire spikes are part of broader security measures, which may also include barriers and surveillance systems to enhance safety in specific locations.
