Spike Strip
A spike strip is a device used by law enforcement to stop vehicles during high-speed chases. It consists of a long strip with sharp spikes that puncture the tires of a vehicle when driven over. This helps to safely bring a fleeing vehicle to a halt without causing a dangerous collision.
Spike strips can be deployed on roads or highways and are often used in conjunction with police tactics. They are designed to minimize risk to both officers and the public. Once the tires are deflated, the vehicle typically slows down, allowing police to apprehend the driver more easily.
