Tippeligaen
Tippeligaen was the top professional football league in Norway, established in 1990. It featured 16 teams competing annually, with each team playing 30 matches in a season. The league operated on a promotion and relegation system with 1. divisjon, the second tier of Norwegian football.
In 2017, Tippeligaen was rebranded as Eliteserien. The league was known for its competitive nature and produced several talented players who went on to have successful careers in European football. The season typically ran from April to November, culminating in a championship playoff to determine the league winner.
