Timucua language
The Timucua language was spoken by the Timucua people, an Indigenous group in what is now northern Florida and southern Georgia. It belongs to the Muskogean language family and was primarily used for communication among the Timucua tribes.
Although the language is now extinct, it was documented in the 16th and 17th centuries by Spanish missionaries. The Timucua language had several dialects, reflecting the diverse communities within the Timucua culture. Today, efforts are being made to preserve the history and heritage of the Timucua people through linguistic studies and cultural initiatives.
