Timothy Treadwell
Timothy Treadwell was an American bear enthusiast and environmentalist known for his work with grizzly bears in Alaska. He spent several summers living among the bears in Katmai National Park, documenting their behavior and advocating for their protection. Treadwell filmed his experiences, creating a series of documentaries that highlighted both the beauty and dangers of wildlife.
In 2003, Treadwell and his girlfriend were tragically killed by a bear while camping in the park. His life and work raised questions about the relationship between humans and wildlife, as well as the ethics of interacting with nature. His story was later featured in the documentary film, Grizzly Man.
