Time-Outs (Break)
A time-out, often referred to as a break, is a disciplinary technique used to manage behavior in children. It involves temporarily removing a child from a situation where they are misbehaving, allowing them to calm down and reflect on their actions. The goal is to help children learn self-regulation and understand the consequences of their behavior.
During a time-out, the child is typically placed in a designated area, such as a quiet corner or a specific chair, for a short period. This method is commonly used by parents and educators as a way to promote positive behavior and encourage children to think about their choices in a safe environment.
