Tiling Patterns
Tiling patterns are arrangements of shapes that cover a surface without any gaps or overlaps. These patterns can be made using various geometric shapes, such as squares, triangles, or hexagons. Tiling is often seen in art, architecture, and flooring, where it creates visually appealing designs.
There are two main types of tiling patterns: regular and irregular. Regular tiling uses identical shapes that fit together uniformly, like M.C. Escher's artwork. Irregular tiling, on the other hand, combines different shapes and sizes, resulting in more complex designs. Both types can be found in nature, such as in honeycombs or the scales of certain fish.
