Tie-Down Roping
Tie-Down Roping is a rodeo event where a cowboy, known as a roper, chases a calf on horseback and attempts to catch it using a lasso. The goal is to throw the rope around the calf's neck and then dismount quickly to tie three of its legs together. This event tests the skill and speed of both the horse and the rider.
The competition begins when the calf is released from a chute. The timer starts when the calf breaks the barrier, and the roper must complete the tie within a set time limit. Successful ropers demonstrate precision, agility, and teamwork with their horses.
