Tiangong program
The Tiangong program is China's initiative to develop a modular space station, aiming to enhance its capabilities in space exploration and research. The program began in 2011 and includes the construction of the Tiangong space station, which is expected to be fully operational by 2022. This station will support various scientific experiments and international collaborations.
The Tiangong space station consists of a core module, named Tianhe, and two laboratory modules, Wentian and Mengtian. It is designed to host astronauts for extended missions and facilitate research in fields such as astronomy, biology, and materials science. The program reflects China's growing ambitions in space technology and exploration.
