Thuringians
The Thuringians were a Germanic tribe that inhabited the region of Thuringia in central Germany during the early Middle Ages. They are believed to have settled in the area around the 5th century and played a significant role in the history of the region. The Thuringians were known for their agricultural practices and their interactions with neighboring tribes, including the Franks.
In the 6th century, the Thuringians established a kingdom that became a notable power in the area. However, their kingdom faced challenges from external forces, particularly the Franks, who eventually conquered them in 531 AD. This conquest led to the integration of the Thuringians into the Frankish Empire, marking the decline of their distinct identity.
