Three Rondavels
The Three Rondavels are a group of three distinctive rock formations located in the Blyde River Canyon in South Africa. These formations resemble traditional African huts, known as rondavels, and are characterized by their round tops and steep cliffs. The area is part of the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity.
The Three Rondavels are composed of dolomite rock and rise approximately 700 meters above the canyon floor. They are named after the local Tswana people, who refer to them as "Mafunyane," "Matsoku," and "Mafungwene." The site is a popular tourist destination, offering breathtaking views and opportunities for hiking and photography.
