Three Gunas
The "Three Gunas" are fundamental qualities in Hindu philosophy that describe the nature of all things. They are Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. Sattva represents purity, knowledge, and harmony, promoting clarity and balance. Rajas embodies activity, passion, and dynamism, driving ambition and desire. Tamas signifies darkness, inertia, and ignorance, leading to confusion and lethargy.
These gunas influence human behavior and mental states. A predominance of Sattva leads to a peaceful and enlightened mind, while Rajas can result in restlessness and overactivity. Tamas, when dominant, may cause stagnation and apathy. Understanding these qualities helps in personal growth and spiritual development.
