Thread Count
Thread count refers to the number of threads woven together in one square inch of fabric. It includes both vertical threads, known as the warp, and horizontal threads, called the weft. A higher thread count often indicates a denser and potentially softer fabric, which is commonly associated with quality in items like bed sheets and towels.
However, thread count is not the only factor that determines fabric quality. The type of material, such as cotton or silk, and the way the threads are spun and woven also play significant roles. Therefore, while a higher thread count can be a positive sign, it should not be the sole consideration when evaluating fabric.
