Thoroughbred Breeding
Thoroughbred breeding involves the careful selection of Thoroughbred horses to produce offspring with desirable traits, such as speed, stamina, and temperament. Breeders typically choose a stallion and a mare based on their lineage, performance records, and genetic compatibility to enhance the qualities of the foal.
The breeding process often takes place through natural mating or artificial insemination. Once the mare is confirmed pregnant, she carries the foal for about 11 months. After birth, the foal is raised and trained, with the goal of preparing it for competitive racing, which is the primary purpose of Thoroughbred breeding.
