Thomas Telford
Thomas Telford (1757-1834) was a Scottish civil engineer and architect known for his innovative contributions to infrastructure. He is best recognized for designing the Menai Suspension Bridge, which connects the island of Anglesey to mainland Wales, showcasing his expertise in bridge construction.
In addition to bridges, Telford played a significant role in road building and canal construction. He was instrumental in the development of the Union Canal and the Caledonian Canal, which improved transportation and trade in Scotland.
