Thomas Lincoln
Thomas Lincoln was the father of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. He was born on January 6, 1778, in Virginia and later moved to Kentucky and then to Indiana. Thomas was a farmer and carpenter, known for his hard work and dedication to his family. He faced many challenges, including financial difficulties and the loss of his wife, Nancy Hanks Lincoln.
Thomas Lincoln's relationship with his son, Abraham, was significant in shaping the future president's character. Although they had differing views, especially on education and ambition, Thomas instilled values of honesty and perseverance in Abraham. Thomas passed away on January 17, 1851, in Illinois.
