Thomas Keating
Thomas Keating was an American Trappist monk, theologian, and author, born on March 7, 1923, in New York City. He was a prominent figure in the development of Centering Prayer, a method of contemplative prayer that emphasizes silence and stillness. Keating's work aimed to deepen the spiritual life of individuals and promote interfaith dialogue.
Throughout his life, Keating wrote numerous books and founded several monasteries, including St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado. He was instrumental in the Contemplative Outreach movement, which seeks to spread the practice of Centering Prayer.
