Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk
Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk (1473–1554), was a prominent English nobleman during the Tudor period. He was a member of the Howard family, one of the most influential families in England. The Duke played a significant role in the court of King Henry VIII and was involved in various political and military affairs, including the Battle of Flodden in 1513.
As a supporter of Catholicism, the Duke opposed the Protestant Reformation and was involved in the political intrigues of the time. He was also the uncle of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII, which further connected him to the royal family. His life was marked by both power and eventual downfall, as he faced challenges during the reign of Queen Mary I.
