Thomas Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk
Thomas Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk (1443–1524), was a prominent English nobleman during the late medieval period. He was a member of the Howard family and played a significant role in the politics of Henry VII and Henry VIII's reigns. As the 2nd Earl of Surrey, he was involved in various military campaigns and was known for his loyalty to the crown.
In 1514, he was elevated to the title of Duke of Norfolk, becoming one of the highest-ranking nobles in England. He was also the grandfather of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, which linked him to the Tudor dynasty's complex history.
