Thomas Holland, 1st Earl of Kent
Thomas Holland, 1st Earl of Kent, was an English nobleman born around 1350. He was the son of Thomas Holland, 2nd Baron Holand and Joan of Kent, who was known as the "Fair Maid of Kent." Thomas became the 1st Earl of Kent in 1381 and played a significant role in the political landscape of England during the late 14th century.
Holland was a loyal supporter of King Richard II and participated in various military campaigns, including the Hundred Years' War. He married Alice FitzAlan, which strengthened his ties to other noble families. Thomas Holland died in 1397, leaving behind a legacy tied to the English nobility.
