Thomas Fairfax
Thomas Fairfax was a prominent English general and politician during the 17th century, known for his role in the English Civil War. Born in 1612, he became a key leader of the Parliamentarian forces against the Royalists, who supported King Charles I. Fairfax's military strategies and leadership contributed significantly to several important victories for the Parliamentarians.
Fairfax was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the New Model Army in 1645, where he played a crucial role in the decisive battle of Naseby. After the war, he became involved in political matters, advocating for peace and stability in England. He eventually retired from public life in 1650.
