Thomas Adams
Thomas Adams was an American inventor and entrepreneur, best known for his work in the chewing gum industry. He began experimenting with chicle, a natural gum from the sapodilla tree, in the 1860s. His efforts led to the creation of the first successful commercial chewing gum, which he marketed under the name Adams New York Chewing Gum.
In addition to his contributions to chewing gum, Adams was also involved in the development of other products, including Adams' Black Jack and Teaberry gum. His innovations helped shape the modern confectionery industry, making chewing gum a popular treat in the United States and beyond.
