Thomanerchor
The Thomanerchor is a renowned boys' choir based in Leipzig, Germany. Founded in 1212, it is one of the oldest choirs in the world and is closely associated with the St. Thomas Church, where it performs regularly. The choir is known for its rich tradition of choral music, particularly the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as its music director in the early 18th century.
The choir consists of boys aged 9 to 18, who receive musical training alongside their academic education. The Thomanerchor performs a wide range of music, from sacred choral works to contemporary pieces, and participates in concerts and festivals both in Germany and internationally.
