Thermal Features
Thermal features refer to natural phenomena that involve heat and temperature variations, often found in geothermal areas. Common examples include hot springs, geysers, and fumaroles, which are created by the Earth's internal heat. These features are typically associated with volcanic activity and can be found in regions like Yellowstone National Park in the United States.
The heat from the Earth's interior can cause water to heat up and rise to the surface, creating hot springs. In the case of geysers, pressure builds up until it erupts, releasing steam and hot water. Fumaroles, on the other hand, emit steam and gases, showcasing the dynamic processes occurring beneath the Earth's crust.
