Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is a core component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. It encourages students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, exploring how we know what we claim to know. Through discussions and critical thinking, students examine different ways of knowing, such as perception, emotion, language, and reason.
In TOK, students also investigate various areas of knowledge, including natural sciences, human sciences, history, and the arts. The course emphasizes the importance of questioning assumptions and understanding the complexities of knowledge, fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse perspectives and the interconnectedness of different disciplines.
