Theocratic States
A theocratic state is a form of government in which religious leaders control the government, and the state's legal system is based on religious law. In these systems, the authority of the government is often believed to be divinely guided, and laws are derived from sacred texts. Examples of theocratic states include Iran and Vatican City.
In a theocratic state, citizens may have limited political freedoms, as the government prioritizes religious doctrine over individual rights. The leaders, often seen as representatives of a deity, may enforce strict adherence to religious practices and beliefs, influencing various aspects of daily life, including education and social norms.
